Dr. Xin He joined the Center for Combustion Energy in May 2012 and was appointed as a tenure-track professor of the Center for Combustion Energy/Department of Automotive Engineering, Tsinghua University.

Dr. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Department of Thermal Engineering, Tsinghua University. After receiving his Ph.D degree at the University of Michigan in 2005, he worked as a researcher/senior researcher at General Motors Corporation. In 2009, he worked as a senior engineer at U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Dr. He has extensive research experiences on fuel combustion kinetics, biofuel combustion, high efficiency clean combustion for internal combustion engines. Previously, he served as a panelist for “U.S. National Science Foundation” and a reviewer for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) ARPA-E program. He is also a member of ASME-Internal Combustion Engine Division board of associates. He has participated in numerous projects sponsored by China 863 program, U.S. DOE, U.S. National Biodiesel Board, etc. He has published more than 30 papers and held 2 U.S. Patents. In 2011, he was awarded NREL-“President’s Award”.
