2022 Tsinghua-Princeton-CI Summer School on Combustion Successfully Held

The 2022 summer school was successfully held during July 11-15. The lectures this year were offered by Professors Suk Ho Chung, Tiziano Faravelli, William Roberts, Markus Kraft, José Torero, Kaoru Maruta, and Tianfeng Lu. Topics covered the fundamental knowledge on combustion physics and chemistry as well as ammonia combustion, soot, fire safety, microgravity and microscale combustion and model reduction. The event was attended by 275 delegates from 24 countries. These delegates are undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, university professors and industrial engineers. The 5-day lectures were offered virtually. Due to the time differences between the lecturers and students (from Asia, Europe, and America), courses were offered in afternoon and evening of Beijing times, enrichment activities like poster presentation and lab tour were held virtually.

Below are some pictures from this year’s activities:

Fundamentals of Flames, by Prof. Suk Ho Chung

Combustion Chemistry and Kinetic Mechanism Development, by Prof. Tiziano Faravelli

Current Status of Ammonia Combustion, by Prof. William Roberts

Soot, by Prof. Markus Kraft
